South Asia Fellowship — 2026

The Resilience Youth Network South Asia Fellowship is a free, eight-week virtual summer program that explores pathways into climate work and teaches motivated high school, undergraduate, and graduate students how to create climate resilience in their home regions.

The 2026 program runs from Sunday, June 28 through Sunday, August 23. Fellows attend weekly 1.5-hour Zoom webinars combining lecture, Fellow-led discussion, and active learning, and complete a capstone project published through The Green Zine.

Requirements

Age

Rising junior or senior in high school, undergraduate, or graduate student.

Time Commitment

Two hours per week, including weekly 1.5-hour Sunday Zoom sessions.

Mindset

Passion for addressing climate change. No technical background required — content is designed to be accessible.

Cost

Free. A stable internet connection and basic English comprehension are the only requirements.

The Fellowship has three components.

The Fellowship has three components: Climate Change Basics (sea level rise, flooding, wildfires, extreme heat, social impacts), Resilience Solutions (policy, building codes, nature-based solutions, market mechanisms), and a Capstone Project — a written piece, infographic, map, photo essay, or art project published through The Green Zine.

Week-by-week overview (Sunday, June 28 – Sunday, August 23)

Please note: there is no session on Sunday, August 16 — fellows take a one-week break between Weeks 7 and 8.

  • Week 1: Fellowship Overview, Fellow and Board Introductions, and Resilience Basics.
  • Weeks 2–3: Climate Civics, Governance, and Finance.
  • Weeks 4–5: Disaster Risk Reduction.
  • Weeks 6–7: Climate Impacts and Solutions.
  • Week 8: Climate Communication.
